The Depot Restaurant is a charming neighborhood restaurant located in an historic stone building just a block off the Plaza in Sonoma. Locals and visitors to the Wine Country enjoy casual Tuscan-inspired cuisine in the Vinoteca, in the cozy dining rooms, and on the terraces surrounding the shady Italian garden and reflection pool. Food is a passion at The Depot--whether it is making house made salumi and charcuterie, or handmade pasta, or fresh ricotta. In addition to products made in-house, the Sonoma wine country around us offers an abundance of new artisanal products. The search for the best local products is a treasure hunt the Chef enjoys--whether from the coast, local farms, or local cheese makers. Come join us for a trattoria-style lunch or dinner...or just drop into our Vinoteca for informal small plates of antipasti and a glass of wine. Our focus is casual Italian comfort food--served in an informal wine country atmosphere.

Food was not good at all. Had to send back the fish soup it smelled so off. Caesar salad was a couple old leaves and store bought salty croutons. Pasta was completely overcooked, and thats an italian restaurant? Even wine somehow wasnâ€™t good, despite it being Sonoma. Food quality was just a step above fast food. Service was all right, but all the waiters seemed so surly. I went off the good ratings on Google and spent my only night in Sonoma eating there, what a waste!

After a day of wine tasting, six of us settled in to eat what turned out to be a terrific meal. My wife and I had never eaten at The Depot, though one of the couples had been before. Everything that we ordered was excellent. The liaison salad was excellent, I had the Tagliatelle, and everyone was pleased with their meal. We had very good service, however, our server had a very slight snarkiness about him (as if he had experienced a LOT of customers that had been wine tasting). He was still good at what he did - serve the table properly. Overall, I highly recommend the restaurant.

No lodging at Depot. Only great food and service.

Call Restaurant and ask

I don't think that reservations are necessary but I always think that they're a good idea. Also, to have the best seating you should have a reservation.
